Whitesales is committed to lowering is carbon emissions and ever improving the materials used when bringing our Rooflights to life. In 2022 alone, we’ve expanded our kerb options by not 1, but 2 sustainable materials which have proven tremendously popular whilst lowering our environmental impact. In 2022, we began making further external environmental developments promoting sustainability and environmental consciousness. Where we introduced our Timber Sloping Upstand (made of FSC accredited timber) we began contributing further by donating to the National Trust ‘Plant a tree’ initiative. This has seen us develop British woodlands by continuously investing. We encourage our customers and employees to do the same if they wish:
Our Responsibility
It is our responsibility to ensure we are positively impacting the environment, staff-wellbeing and community whilst continuously providing the very best quality of product. We work effectively by always improving product quality whilst always considering what we can do to lower the environmental impact on the production and materials used for any one product. Since the consolidation of our recently acquired manufacturing facility, we have been able to revisit and design new products which consider sustainable materials from the ground up.
We are anticipating further major steps forward in the environmental department in the coming years but bringing two sustainably resourced products out in the last 12 months has been a great start.
We consistently review our environmental factors with the intention of improving or overhauling current processes for the better. We aim to minimise use of natural unsustainably resources and streamline our sustainable processes in both office, warehouse and manufacturing facility.
Sustainability
Our responsibility to the sustainable resourcing of materials to create our products is ongoing. We work hard to ensure we are working to our full capabilities in design when designing & creating new products ensuring they can be continuously and sustainably made for years to come.
A product that has been tested and achieved a Class 1 rating will provide the highest levels of safety for occupants. The product will feature a defined overall glass specification and laminated inner pane/s.
Laminated glass is constructed of two sheets of glass which are bonded together with interlayers to form a permanent bond. If the glass is damaged, these interlayers act like a ‘glue’ to hold the fragments in place ensuring the glass does not break up into large jagged shards or hundreds of little pieces, protecting occupants below.
